Domain of Occupational Therapy

The domain of occupational therapy represents the areas in which occupational therapists have expert knowledge. These include: occupations, client factors, performance skills, performance patterns, and contexts and environments (Figure 1). Occupational therapists provide a unique contribution because of their ability to understand how all five areas interact dynamically to provide wellness and life balance.
